Safety

Safety & trust

If the goal is bringing people from the phone to a real meetup, safety isn't an add-on — it's part of the product.

We want to be precise: Clanio does not promise a safe meetup. Our tools are meant to help reduce risk, not eliminate it.

Mutual Match before conversation

No group can send a cold message to a group that hasn't shown interest. A conversation opens only after both groups have Liked each other — so entering a new introduction always comes from mutual interest on both sides.

Group chat, not private messages

In V1, there's no private messaging between people from different groups. The initial introduction happens inside a shared group chat for both groups' members, not one-on-one between two strangers.

Reporting and blocking

Users, groups and content can be reported, and blocking is available. Community guidelines and safe-meetup guidance are available in the app. These tools are meant to help reduce risk — they are not supervision of meetups.

Minimum age to register

Clanio has a minimum age to register. Sign-up requires entering a date of birth and meeting it. Worth knowing: this is a self-declared date-of-birth gate — there is no government or third-party ID or age verification.

What we don't promise

Clanio does not organize, attend, or supervise meetups between users. Our tools — mutual Match, reporting, blocking and community guidelines — are meant to help reduce risk, not to guarantee a safe meetup or vouch for any user, group, or content in the app.
