How it works
Clanio takes a mechanism everyone already knows from the dating world — Swipe, Like, Match — and moves it from a personal profile to a group profile.
-
Build a personal profile
Every user creates their own personal profile — a photo, age and basic info. Sign-up is subject to a minimum age, and requires entering a date of birth that meets it.
-
Start or join a group
Start a new group or join an existing one. Once a group has at least three active members, it gets a shared group profile: who the people are, their vibe, where they're from, and what they like doing — hikes, the beach, bars, camping, festivals, or just meeting new people.
-
Discover other groups
The group admin looks through other groups nearby and Likes or Passes on behalf of the whole group — by vibe, shared interests and distance. No one can simply message a group that hasn't shown interest.
-
Get a Match
A Match happens only when both groups Like each other. Mutual interest before conversation means less guessing about whether the other side is interested, and less awkwardness in making first contact.
-
Group chat opens
The Match opens a shared group chat for every member of both groups. In V1, there's no private messaging between people from different groups — all the initial getting-to-know-you happens inside the group chat.
-
Plan a meetup
From the chat, groups can move to a real suggestion: a bar on Thursday, the beach on Friday, a hike on Saturday, or camping next month — taking the connection off the phone and into the real world.
Clanio is a social app for connecting groups — not a dating app. Romance can happen naturally, like in any social meetup, but it isn't the product's promise.
